Whether you prefer gas or charcoal, smoke or open flame, barbeques are a summer tradition. As you visit the neighborhood barbeques this summer, be sure to consider tooth-friendly foods and drinks that may have a positive impact on your oral health and could even improve your smile!
  • Choose water over sugary drinks. While summer fun may include drinks with tiny umbrellas, consuming more water than sugary beverages will make your mouth thank you.
  • Choose fruit and veggie trays over chips and salsa. Unlike chips, raw vegetables are high in fiber and act as a natural toothbrush when you chew.
  • Say yes to the cheese plate. Studies show that cheese and other dairy products could help raise pH levels in your mouth, which helps protect against cavities.
Barbecue season (or any other season) doesn't have to be bad for your teeth.  Curb sugars and use healthier substitutes  that not only benefit your teeth, but add to your overall well being. Get more mouth-friendly tips for your summer BBQ
