(FCW) The White House is standing down the two interagency groups tasked with managing the government's response to the cybersecurity incidents involving SolarWinds and Microsoft Exchange, citing improving trends in patching.
Bipartisan Bill Builds on Momentum for Greater Federal R&D Spending
(Federal News Network) Sens. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) and Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) introduced the National Strategy to Ensure American Leadership (SEAL) Act on Monday. The bill directs the Commerce Department to partner with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to identify the ten most critical emerging science and technology challenges facing the U.S.

Enabling New Air, Space and Satellite Capabilities Through the Cloud
When the Department of Defense was tasked with creating the new U.S. Space Force, few people offered more experience to lead the planning and implementation effort than Maj. Gen. Clint Crosier, a 33-year Air Force veteran. Crosier had headed numerous high-profile assignments, including as director of Space and Intelligence Programs in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, and Chief of long-range strategic planning for the Air Force. Now he is taking that experience to AWS’s Aerospace and Satellite business.
Salesforce Launches Toolkits and Guides to Help Businesses Embrace Digitization
Salesforce today launched Digital 360 for Industries, a set of services built to help companies in market segments like consumer goods, financial services, nonprofit, and the public sector embrace digitization. With prebuilt templates, industry-specific developer toolkits, and customer guides, Salesforce says that Digital 360 is designed to enable businesses to overcome challenges involving data capture, systems integration, and compliance requirements.
Effectual Awarded 10-Year Cloud Services Contract with Ginnie Mae
Effectual, a modern, cloud first, managed and professional services company, has been awarded a 10-year dedicated cloud services contract with the Government National Mortgage Association (GNMA or Ginnie Mae). The $140M single award includes Effectual as co-prime, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS). An earlier announcement on October 27, 2020 by Ginnie Mae's contracting office listed JHC Technology as the co-prime. Effectual completed the acquisition of JHC Technology in January 2020 and will therefore be delivering the services awarded to JHC.
Google Cloud Unveils AI Contact Center Focused on Vaccine Equity
Google Cloud has expanded its Intelligent Vaccine Impact solutions (IVIs) platform to ensure equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines.

The expanded IVIs platform now includes a Contact Center AI (CCAI) with intelligent virtual agents that understand and offer real-time responses to customers' vaccine queries 24/7. Customers can use various methods to contact an agent, including chat, text, web, mobile, and phone.
