$186.5 million loss in tax revenue from Wisconsin hotels in 2020 due to COVID-19 impact

Today, the Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association, responded to a new report by Oxford Economics released by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) that showed as a result of the sharp drop in travel demand from COVID-19, state and local tax revenue from hotel operations will drop by $16.8 billion nationally in 2020 with a loss of $186.5 million in Wisconsin.

We're All In small business grant  application portal open June 15 - June 23
Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation will issue 30,000 grants of $2,500 to Wisconsin small businesses to help them get back on their feet amid disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Funded by the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the grants will help small businesses with the costs of business interruption or for health and safety improvements, wages and salaries, rent, mortgages, and inventory.

A business may apply for the We're All In Small Business Grant if it:
  • Was in business in February 2020. Businesses that started in 2020 are not eligible;
  • Is Wisconsin-based and for-profit;
  • Employs 20 or fewer full-time equivalent (FTE) employees, including the owner; and
  • Has more than $0 but less than $1 million in annual revenues.

Application Period: Monday, June 15 at 8:00 am  - Tuesday, June 23 at 11:59 pm
