Family Care Leave and COVID-19
Faculty members at the Medical Center who are employed by Georgetown University to work at least 75% time are eligible for Family Care Leave. For this academic year, eligible faculty may apply for Family Care Leave as set forth in the Faculty Handbook, III.10.d if they have family care circumstances that are “closely similar circumstances” to those addressed by Family Care Leave, such as the need to care for children or other family members who would be in school, daycare, or the care of others, but for the pandemic. Additional guidance can be found in the Faculty Handbook.
GU Cares: COVID-19 Fall 2020 Dependent Care Assistance
Staff, AAPs, and faculty at Georgetown who are working at least 75% time and are facing dependent care challenges due to COVID-related closings of school, child care, and elder care services can apply for a $1000 grant to defray the costs of such care during the fall semester. Submit Entries for Georgetown Lombardi Poetry Cafe By September 10
The Department of Mission & Pastoral Cafe and the Georgetown Lombardi Arts and Humanities Program will hold the Fifth Annual Poetry Cafe: A Celebration of Expression, Empowerment and Community over Zoom on October 8 at 2:00 p.m. Those who are interested in participating should submit an original short song or poem to Morgan Kulesza by September 10. Call for Global Health Initiative Student Fellows
The Georgetown Global Health Initiative student fellows program is an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to work with faculty on research projects, participate in global health events, and network with one another and scholars in the field. Students interested in a fall fellowship should fill out the GHI Fellowship Application Form by 12:00 p.m. on September 9.

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is recruiting medical students to serve as peer dialogue facilitators (PDF) and sexual assault peer educators (SAPE), and on the Council on Diversity Affairs (CODA). Applications for all positions are due by 5:00 p.m. on September 11. First-year medical students may apply to serve as PDFs or SAPEs here. Any medical student interested in serving on the CODA may apply here.
