The first English Prairie School, built on English Prairie Road just west of Wilmot Road, was a red, wooden frame building built in 1846. In 1901, this beautiful brick school with a bell tower replaced it...however, in 1929, it, too, was replaced by another new "modern" brick building. In 1962, when that building was the last one room school in the County, the district was consolidated and the English Prairie School was closed. The last building was converted to a single family residence but has now been moved to the Richardson Adventure Farm with a future renovation in store for it.
