Retailing for Farmers

Annie Harlow & James Morrell, both formerly of City Market in Burlington and currently consultants for farms & retail food stores lead a workshop to build a stronger retail understanding while improving your role as a farmer-retailer. This workshop is geared to those of various sizes and operations that need clarity and tools to increase sales and customer engagement.

Must pre-register, space is limited; Lite fare will be provided

Topics we will cover include but are not limited to:

  • How to create a positive customer experience
  • Understanding retail dynamics
  • Self critique tools to improve operations
  • Purchasing off-farm products to enhance your product selection
  • Group discussion on cash-out and payment options, staffing round-table conversations, to create a peer to peer sharing environment
  • Hands-on activities and self evaluations
  • If you have a large scale operation that is already highly functioning this may not be the best use of your time, however, if you want to up-train staff this will be useful.
  • We will do our best to reschedule if a weather event requires a date change. However, the workshop is non-refindable and is a donation to Farm to Plate Retail Services
  • This workshop is #Rooted in Vermont
