The Spoils of Penny Wars
Last month, as a thank you to our awesome Hansen Community for a successful Penny Wars, CAPT voted and approved to spend 10 percent of what was made from Penny Wars to buy outdoor toys and indoor games for all Hansen students. We went shopping and filled a trunk! The balls and chalk are already delivered to the school. The games will be coming soon!

Become More Involved in CAPT!
At the end of this year, our whole Board will be concluding their 2 year terms. If you like what CAPT does and want to become more involved, here's your chance! No matter your skillset, we have a position for you!

Serving on the Board is a great way to get to know other parents and guardians. It's also a fantastic way to support the educational experience of all children in our school. As discussed at previous CAPT meetings, we would like to have folks who may be interested in these roles shadow this year to see if this is something that will interest them next year and it will be an easier transition once our current board leave at the end of this school year.

Each newsletter, we'll highlight one board position! If you would like to know more or want to shadow the current member, please reach out.
CAPT Board Opening: Fundraising Chair

This position has been open for a few years and we would love to have someone fill this role. Use old ideas or bring new ideas to the table on how we can make money for the school. So many possibilities! Here's what we've done in the past:

  • Form a committee to help you.
  • You could run events for school half days.
  • You could help coordinate the dining for dollars nights. Families go to a particular restaurant and dine in (or take out) and the school gets some money back .
  • You could coordinate fundraisers on school half days so families can go somewhere fun when schools letout early (like a trampoline park) and CAPT will get some money back.
