Sip, Taste & Stroll: An Evening of Wine, Beer, and Food Samples
It's always a great time! The Fall Sip, Taste & Stroll takes place on Friday, September 27 from 5 to 8 PM. Join your friends and sample some new tastes while browsing the great shops in downtown Burlington. Advance tickets are $10 per person at Weird Harold's available through September 27, or online. Tickets are $15 the day of the event and will be available at the registration sites. The ticket gets you a complimentary glass and location map.
Farmers Market Runs Through September
The Jefferson St. Farmers Market will continue bringing you fresh local produce, baked goods, crafts, and food trucks through September 26. The September 19 market will have a Fall Fest theme. A very special thanks to Two Rivers Bank & Trust for their support of the market. It's been another wonderful year!
144 Envelopes - Your Support Is Appreciated!
Downtown Partners board members are approaching area individuals and businesses for a unique fundraiser. The idea is to receive donations corresponding to a dollar amount on an envelope, from $1 to $144. This stands to be a significant fundraiser in which no one person or entity is asked to contribute a major amount. Plans are underway for a special "Taste of Downtown" thank you reception for donors and their guests at a special location on the evening of October 8 with food, beverages, live music, and a silent auction.

Downtown Partners works hard to present special events, encourage building and business improvement, and beautify the city center. We hope you will show your support for our activities by contributing at a level that is meaningful to you. If you have questions or would like to contribute, contact Downtown Partners at 319-208-0056 or email Steve Frevert. Together we are making great strides!
Commercial Space Open House
To assist downtown property owners and potential businesses owners, the DPI Business Development Committee is hosting its annual Commercial Space Open House on Sunday, September 22 from 1 to 3 PM. It is free and open to the public. People interested in relocating, expanding, or opening a business in downtown Burlington will be able to visit available spaces and discuss the commercial opportunities. Stop by the Annex of the Capitol Theater during the event to pick up a directory map to the available locations, as well as information about incentives, business support activities, and recent and future downtown projects.

Start Planning Now -
Lighted Holiday Parade
Downtown Partners' Lighted Holiday Parade will take place on Jefferson Street on Saturday, November 30 at 5 PM. Although it seems like a long way off, it's not too early to start planning your entry! This year's theme will be "Snowflakes and Sugar Plums." Download the parade entry form at here.
The Latest News...
  • Thanks to all those who attended the public input sessions and stakeholder meetings for the upcoming TIGER grant project, which will transform Main and Jefferson Sts. and include riverfront improvements. Construction is slated to begin in 2021. Change can be a little scary, but it can also be a great thing. Be watching for additional public presentations.
  • So glad to welcome two new downtown businesses - The Collective shared use commercial kitchen and retail shop at 805 Jefferson, and the eye-popping restaurant Good at 423 N. Third. Additional business openings are in the works!
  • Did you know - there are 160 apartments and 19 owner occupied residences (condos and single family homes) in downtown. We expect this to increase at least 50% in the next several years. Compared to the rest of the city, the downtown residential population is increasing, it is younger, and it is more diverse. Good trends for the future!
  • The Greater Burlington Partnership is undertaking the annual Total Resource Campaign, making advertising and sponsorship opportunities available to local businesses. This income is crucial to Downtown Partners, comprising over 30 percent of our annual budget. We welcome your support of our efforts.
