JAY CANELL AND NEIL CANELL
SCOPE Board Members

Across the many communities they are involved with, Jay Canell and Neil Canell are known for having big hearts and supportive souls. SCOPE has been so fortunate to have both Canell brothers as a part of our SCOPE community and Board of Directors for many years.
As SCOPE Board members, Jay and Neil participate in many committees, providing their camp-passionate point of view in combination with their extensive professional input. Through their depth of financial experience as partners of The Canell Group at J.P. Morgan Chase, Neil and Jay offer their own unique and insightful viewpoints and our whole organization truly values their individual opinions, contributions, and support.
Jay and Neil also serve as connectors within various communities. As previous SCOPE Golf Tournament co-chairs, they have led fun and successful golf events, engaging their personal contacts and professional networks to help make a huge difference towards SCOPE support for camperships.
As Timber Lake Camp alumni, they continue to do their part to bring this community into the SCOPE fold as their guests at SCOPE benefits, and events. As Lehigh alumni and Lacrosse loving guys, Jay and Neil donate their time to educating Lehigh students and empowering athletes to stay committed to their studies, thereby ensuring well-rounded individuals and promoting successful futures.
Jay’s daughter Hayley Canell has carried on her father and uncle Neil's legacy through her philanthropic efforts in support of SCOPE. The SCOPE Leadership Award was established to recognize Hayley's contributions to SCOPE by honoring her in 2015. The Canell Families continue to pave the way for other philanthropists to support our cause and activate support among others near and dear to their hearts.
Jay and Neil have been necessary entities to help SCOPE cultivate long-term relationships and strengthen connections and for this (and so much more!) we are truly grateful.
Thank you, Jay and Neil!

EMILY SUSSMAN
SCOPE Associate Board Member
|
When it comes to SCOPE support, Emily Sussman (Suss) taps into her strong communication and organizational skills to help us make a lasting impact! As an alumna of KenMont and KenWood Camp, over several summers Suss rallied KMKW youth as they made strides to give the gift of camp through their Climb4aCause and Swim4SCOPE gives back initiatives. She also got creative and used her 13th summer at camp in tandem with her birthday to create a Facebook fundraiser that would raise funds for SCOPE!
|
Earlier this year, Suss expanded upon the popular virtual fitness fundraiser Sweat4SCOPE to engage participants from the West Coast (where she lives) to the East (where she went to camp) with amazing classes like shadowboxing, HIIT, and cardio dance. The success of Sweat4SCOPE 2.0 inspired Junior Leader Sydney Diamond to follow in Suss’s footsteps and Suss provided Sydney with tons of help and guidance to plan Sweat & Smore4SCOPE. They kept it campy and even had tie-dye and baking classes!
We’re so appreciative of Suss and her dedication to our mission! Now as the Assistant Director of Camp Mah-Kee-Nac, we are excited to see how Suss engages their camp community in SCOPE efforts :)!

YMCA of the Pines provides campers with opportunities for relationship-building, character-strengthening and lifelong learning at their two overnight summer camps, Ockanickon for boys, Matollionequay for girls. Both camps do more than provide fun, adventure, and leadership opportunities, they give campers values and skills that will help them develop as individuals and members of their community in a positive way.
