Dear St. Joseph Elementary School Families,

I am happy to share with you that we had a FANTASTIC first week of school here at St. Joseph Elementary School! I saw so much good learning in the classrooms and I felt Positivity throughout each day. One parent shared with me that her child has come home every day saying, “I can’t wait to go back to school tomorrow!” This warms my heart, and it is exactly what we hope to hear as we not only educate your children, but also work to inspire a love of learning. What a gift it is to belong to a school community like ours.

At Morning Assembly on the first day of school, I shared the good news that we opened our doors with 264 students enrolled for the 2019-2020 school year. This is the largest number of students we have served in over 5 years. On behalf of all of the faculty and staff here at SJES, I want all of you to know how very blessed, honored, and grateful we feel that you have chosen to entrust your children with us as we guide them throughout their educational journey.

Also, on a personal note, I want to thank you so much for all of the support you as parents have showed me in this first week of school. I feel blessed to be so welcomed and supported in my new role as I work to bring my Vision to fruition and take SJES to an even higher level of great!

Every school year, the Diocese of Oakland’s Department of Catholic Schools selects a theme and a related Bible verse. This year, they have selected the theme of “Partners in Mission.” The selected verse, Romans 12:5-6, speaks to this idea: “So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them.” Let us remember this as we all share our various gifts and talents to serve God and benefit our school. I share this verse with you because I think it speaks to the Parent-School Partnership that is so valuable and crucial here at SJES. We as a staff truly feel the parent partnership and positive energy, and that is exactly what we need to thrive as a school community! So please, on behalf of all of the SJES staff, know how deeply appreciative and excited we are to have the opportunity to partner with you during the 2019-2020 school year.

Peace and Blessings,

Ms. Francisco
