Monday, July 13 is the 40 th anniversary of the founding of our wonderful parish. Although the COVID situation has temporarily suspended our weekend anniversary celebration, we can look forward to doing something grand for our 41 st birthday next July. I invite everyone in our parish to offer prayers of gratitude on this anniversary date and to continue to offer prayers of supplication each day for all of us that we continue to become loving disciples of Jesus Christ who make a difference!

We welcome Bishop Kevin Vann to our parish this weekend for the 11am Mass. I am especially grateful that our Bishop wanted to be here even though the grand celebration is on hold. Bishop Vann has promised to come back on July 11, 2021 for Mass with us.

An update: Holy Communion in our parking lot has been a great spiritual success. The tears, the smiles, the power of the Body of Christ received has stirred my soul deeply. Please, if you are not coming to Mass yet, consider coming with your children, your spouse, or alone to receive Holy Communion each week.

There is a slight change on Friday: Holy Communion will be available from 9am – 9:45am (instead of until 10am) as I usually have a funeral or another commitment beginning at 10am.

On Sunday, Holy Communion is available at 12:15pm.
Welcome Fr. Evan Simington
Fr. Evan Simington was born in Marietta, GA in February 1986 to Bruce and Marcia Simington. Fr. Simington was baptized in the Episcopalian Church and his father, mother, and older sister, Sharon, are still faithful Episcopalians. His family then moved to Long Island, NY before they finally landed in Bradenton, FL, where he went to elementary, middle, and high school. Fr. Evan then went to Florida State University in Tallahassee where he studied Philosophy and Religion and graduated in 2008.

During his time at Florida State Fr. Evan began his discernment to Holy Orders in the Episcopal Church. After working in Tallahassee for a few years, Fr. Evan went to a Episcopalian Seminary in Nashotah, WI, Nashotah House Theological Seminary, where he received a Master of Divinity. After graduating from Nashotah House in 2014, Fr. Evan relocated to Greenville, SC where he was confirmed and received into the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter. Fr. Evan was never ordained as an Episcopalian priest, but he continued to discern his vocation to priesthood with the Ordinariate and was sent to St. Mary' Seminary in Houston, TX.

After completing his studies and formation with St. Mary's, Bishop Steven Lopes, the Bishop of the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, ordained him to the diaconate on May 31st, 2016 and to the priesthood on June 29th, 2017. Fr. Evan's first assignment was to St. Alban's Ordinariate Catholic Church in Rochester, NY as the Parochial Administrator and as a Parochial Vicar for a Diocese of Rochester parish; St. Kateri Tekakwitha. Fr. Evan has now been assigned as Parochial Vicar at St. Timothy's and as Parochial Administrator for St. John Henry Newman Ordinariate Community.
Let’s Imagine Together!
I am grateful for the opportunity to return to St. Timothy and continue the faith formation journey with our parish families and their children.

I believe the world needs what our faith teaches us about God, life and the dignity of every person, now, more than ever. Imagine a world filled with peace, hope, joy and love! I will do my best to provide faith formation as we move forward to next year.

I am working out a process for our children who are ready for First Communion and would love to hear any thoughts or concerns you might have. I may be reached at the Faith Formation Office: 495-4126 or mwallace@st-timrsc.org.

Thank you for your patience and prayers!
