The Visit

JINSA delegation at New River learning first-hand about Marine Aviation

During this two-day base visit, JINSA experienced first-hand the training operations and procedures that enable Marines to be combat-ready and perform at the highest level. The visit included a welcome dinner with senior base leadership, including MajGen Stephen Neary, Deputy Commanding General of II MEF, and Col Robert Morgan, II MEF Chief of Staff. The visit also included strategic and operational briefings, interactions with Marines and a tour of an urban training facility.

At Marine Corps Air Station New River the delegation interacted with Marine aviators from Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 167 (HMLA-167) and VMM-261. The delegation also toured various aircrafts on the base, including AH-1Z Cobra, UH-1Y Huey, and an Osprey aircraft.

About our Base Visits
JINSA organizes base visits as part of our outreach efforts to ensure that our leadership understands the work our servicemen and women are doing to keep the U.S. safe and to bring this knowledge back to their communities to advocate for a strong U.S. military. Conversely, we also educate officers and enlisted ranks on the important work JINSA is doing nationally and in their communities.

If you would like to participate in a future JINSA base visit please contact Harris Vederman at 202-667-3900 or [email protected]
