Gear up for Bergen/Rockland Andiamo Motorcycle Charity Run

The Andiamo Motorcycle Charity Run will host its 20th annual benefit on Sunday, September 8, at 10:20 a.m., rain or shine. It will together nearly 1,000 riders and thousands of participants in one of New Jersey’s largest fundraisers on wheels. Registration opens at 8 a.m.
Rockland group will discuss accepting religious children

A support group for parents and family members navigating relationships with their more observant children is set for Thursday, September 5, at 7 p.m., at Rockland Jewish Family Service. Rabbi Dov Oliver, the director of the Center for Jewish Life/Hillel at Rockland Community College, is the guest speaker. RJFS is at 450 West Nyack Road, Suite 2, in West Nyack. Rockland Israel Bonds café night features founder of IDF group

Last month, Rockland community members attended Israel Bonds Israeli café night, hosted by Sharon and Uri Sasson and featuring guest speaker IDF Sgt. Benjamin Anthony, a combat veteran and founder of Our Soldiers Speak. Local lone soldiers were recognized for their service to the State of Israel. The evening included Israeli cuisine and music and celebrated Israel Bonds’ role in strengthening the country’s economy. There Was No Silence  is a documentary about JCC Rockland’s efforts to get a minute of silence for the 11 Israeli athletes murdered at the Munich Olympics in 1972. Timed to premiere on the 47th anniversary of the Munich massacre and less than a year before the Tokyo Olympics.
