Puster Elementary Principal Message
June 13, 2019
Puster Families,

I hope this note finds you enjoying some lazy summer days! This cooler weather has thrown off our normal patio/pool party fun but I am not complaining. It certainly has made for some nice evening walks and I know there is plenty of summer heat yet to come.

Our "Summer of Reading" has commenced! Are your kids logging their minutes? You can find all of the logging details below. Once kids get in for the first time, it is pretty user friendly after that. Wondering if minutes count?
  • Read a book independently?  It counts!
  • Read a book together?  It counts!
  • Read a book to my child?  It counts!
  • Listened to an audio book? It counts!
  • Read a book to my pet/little brother or sister/stuffed animal?  It counts!
  • Listen to Mrs. Haynes read to me? It counts! (Follow the link and give yourself credit for 10 minutes!)

The kids don't know the reading minutes reward yet but I can share that it involves the WHOLE Puster staff. I think most of us are a little bit nervous and thinking up a plan over the summer...

If you haven't done so already, please take a moment to order school supplies for next year. All info can be found below. The deadline for ordering supplies is June 16th - THIS WEEKEND!

Finally, for our 3rd and 4th grade students, STAAR results are in! When I compare this year's overall results to last year, I can share that our teachers and students did AMAZING! They should all be quite proud!   You can access your child's individual results here . From there, you will click on “Find My Access Code” and enter the required information. Access codes are also now available in PowerSchool. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any difficulty.

I will be on campus through June 28th. I will be taking the first two weeks in July for some family time, but I will still be checking my email regularly and can continue to be reached by cell. Please don’t hesitate to reach out at anytime.

Pride in Puster,
Holly

Puster School Supplies
HEADPHONES
This year's school supply list does not include headphones. Students will need to purchase headphones for the beginning of school.
In order to participate in technology-integrated learning activities, Puster students will need a personal set of headphones. You may purchase any headphones you wish, but we want to provide you a good option that can be ordered online and delivered to our campus with your school supplies.

SchoolPhones headphones were developed by a dad whose son continually destroyed headphones. They have excellent recording and audio quality and are protected under a one year warranty.

Step One: Navigate to  www.schoolphones.com

Step Two: Choose a headphone for your student. The (K6m) Media Headphone (ASH/CTLA) is highly recommended for grades K-2. Both shown below are sized to fit elementary students. The website has a variety of selections. Please read the description for sizing if you choose another pair. All headphones are guaranteed for one year.

Step Three: Checkout! Paypal and credit card accepted.
