XC Prepares for Postseason
The Charger MS and HS XC teams are preparing for the postseason and hoping to peak at just the right time!
High school will try to qualify for states as a team and as individuals on Wednesday 11/4 at Crossroads Park in Gilbert. Runners will early release at Noon and the races begin at 2pm for the girls and 2:30pm for the boys. The GHMSL Championships for our MS Chargers will take place on 11/11, also at Crossroads Park. Times for the Chargers start are TBD. Good luck XC!

Varsity Football Falls Just Short vs. San Tan Charter
Arete Prep fell just short against last year's CAA State Champions from San Tan on Friday night, 36-34. A Roadrunner TD catch on 4th and goal with 1:16 left was the difference in a back and forth game. Joe Connelly had a breakout performance, catching 6 passes for 106 yards, and a 2 point conversion. He also had 4 tackles on defense. Freshman WR Sheppard Small also shined, catching two TD passes from Matthew McClelland. The Chargers have a long road trip Friday night, as they travel to St. Johns for a region matchup at 7pm.

CarLife Charger of the Week:
Thank you to our community partner and neighbor CarLife, and Jeff Breid, for sponsoring our programs and supporting our scholar athletes. This award is performance based, with a strong emphasis on leadership and service!
Rebekah Ponce - 6th grade- MS XC
As the lone girl on Arete MS XC, Rebekah has represented this year, and ran another great race last week! She has consistently finished in top 3, including a third place finish, clocking in at 13:11 on Saturday at CCV. Rebekah has a consistently positive attitude and gives her all in training and in races. Congratulations Rebekah and good luck at Championships!

Visit East Valley Sports to Order Your Varsity Jacket!
You may now visit East Valley Sports (6306 East Main Street, Mesa, 85205) to inquire about ordering an Arete Prep Varsity Jacket. We have redesigned the Varsity Letter that was distributed at Fall Sports Awards. Please keep in mind that jackets take 7-8 weeks for production. We are very excited to see school pride represented in Varsity Jackets around campus! Jackets are dress code approved but may only be worn by the owner.

REGISTRATION FOR A SPORT
2. Every athlete must submit a physical on the approved AIA Physical Forms. Physicals are good for 12 months and must be resubmitted annually.
3. Submit the athletic fee. All middle school sports (including archery) are $260. All high school sports are $300. Select Online Payment to pay by debit/credit card online, or you may submit cash, check, or money to the front office.
4. (HS ONLY) If not previously completed, every high school athlete must complete the Brainbook Concussion Course. The AIA will notify Arete electronically once the student has successfully completed the course. High school athletes are required to complete this course only once during their high school career.
All items must be completed and turned in before your student may participate in their sport.
