Dear LCNA Members,

Starting today, July 8, TxDOT will host a virtual workshop for the Loop 360 Project that will involve Lost Creek Boulevard, Westbank Drive, and Walsh Tarlton Lane. The purpose of the workshop is to present preliminary plans and solicit feedback.

As of now, an overpass is planned for Lost Creek Boulevard. This means that Loop 360 main lanes would be elevated to go over Lost Creek Boulevard as it heads into the office complex and schools on the east side of the highway. Sidewalks would run alongside Lost Creek Blvd. underneath the overpass.

Similarly, an overpass is planned for Walsh Tarlton. However, an option is proposed for either an overpass or underpass at Westbank Drive. An underpass would lower the Loop 360 main lanes to run under Westbank Drive. Sidewalks would be placed along Westbank Drive for pedestrians to traverse from Woods of Westlake to Westlake High School on level ground, above the covered overhang.

In 2018 and 2019, the TxDOT public meetings regarding the Westlake Drive/Cedar Street intersection considered a similar option between overpass and underpass for both streets. The public provided feedback strongly in favor of an underpass, and as a result, that design was chosen for both intersections. As noted in TxDOT's Meeting Summary for April 23, 2019, "T he public expressed overwhelming support for the underpasses, and TxDOT recommended moving forward with that option." The meeting summary for September 20, 2018 states feedback of the advantages of an underpass as "a potentially more pleasing aesthetic, reduced noise, and least amount of neighborhood disruption."

Other changes are detailed in the information about the project on the  Loop 360 Program website   and on the   TxDOT meeting page .

Lost Creek residents are encouraged to review the information and weigh in with opinions. Please click the links to see renderings of the overpass vs. underpass
