CALLED TO HELP YOUR COMMUNITY?

Parish Council is seeking a representative to serve on the Centretown Churches Social Action Committee (CCSAC) as a result of a recent vacancy. The CCSAC is responsible for working on social justice issues of interest to Ottawa's downtown community and organizes several ecumenical events including the Walkathon in support of the Centretown Emergency Food Centre. CCSAC has one representative for each of 23 churches located in the downtown area. The Committee meets once a month on Monday evening.  If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Stephen Giles at 613 614 9558.

CHURCH OFFICE NEWS

It is with sadness that St John's Corporation has received Laura Macdonald's resignation as St John's Church Administrator.

In the past four and a half years, Laura has contributed so very much to the life of our parish with diligence, conscientiousness and thoroughness. She not only performed the many usual parish administration functions, but she has shared with us her varied skills as a bookkeeper, an operations manager, a facilities manager, a project manager, as well as provided Corporation with very thoughtful and helpful advice on a number of real estate matters. Laura has worn many hats in support of St John's and she will be missed.

Thankfully, Laura is not going far. She has decided to focus her efforts on her role supporting the three day programs of the Community Ministries of our Diocese; The Well, St. Luke's Table and Centre 454.

We wish Laura tremendous success in this endeavour. Laura's last day at St John's will be 4 December 2020.
REGISTER FOR NEXT SUNDAY'S SERVICE

Each Sunday you can register to attend the in-person Church Service planned for the following Sunday, you can go to this website www.backtochurch.ca. Priority will be given to people who were unable to register in time for the previous service.
