YC Christmas Cash!
Tomorrow is the last day!

YC Christmas Cash  raffle chances are being sold for $25 through tomorrow, Friday, November 1. Each calendar raffle purchased will have a four-digit number and will enter the buyer in a daily drawing for the month of December.  Each day of December has a different payout assigned.  When we pull a purchaser's calendar number on a specific date in December, they will win the amount noted on that date (we are not using PA Lottery numbers).  Every purchaser has 31 chances to win, coordinating with the 31 days of the month.  Winners will be posted on the YC website at  www.yorkcatholic.org , and will be notified by email.  The winner does not need to be present to win.  Winning raffle amounts will be mailed weekly.

Students should return order forms and money to their homeroom representative in a sealed envelope marked with student name(s) and homeroom(s).  Please make sure the order forms are legible and filled out completely. Numbered calendars labeled with the purchaser's name will be sent home for distribution via the oldest student in the selling family after November 4.  Parents will be notified via email when calendars are being sent home.

All Saints Mass

All Saints Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 1, at 10:20 AM in the auditorium. All students will be attending and parents are welcome to join us as well. This will fulfill the Holy Day of Obligation.
All Souls Day - Commemoration of the Dead
In the heritage of the Roman Catholic Church, November 2 has been set aside as a day when we remind ourselves to pray for those who "have gone before us, marked with the sign of faith." The entire month of November is then dedicated to pray for them and for the healing of memories in their regard. Faculty and students are invited to submit the names of deceased loved ones to be remembered in prayer throughout the month of November. Their names will be placed on the altar in the chapel and commemorated during Mass. If your family wishes to provide additional names to be included in our month-long remembrance and prayer, please email the names to us at [email protected] and we will be sure to add them to those already in the chapel.
Bring a Friend to YC
YC is holding Bring a Friend to School Day on Monday, November 18. Current students can encourage an interested friend (from dance class, scouts, a sports team, your neighbor or cousin, etc.) to spend the day at YC as a shadow student. Instead of shadowing with one of our Ambassadors, they can shadow with their friend. Please have the friend's parent contact Ms. Heather Hoffman at [email protected]  or 717-846-8871 x220 by Friday, November 1, to set up a visit day and to receive a permission slip. Only students with a real interest in possibly attending YC will be scheduled for this date.
Retreat - Grade 12
The senior class will attend an overnight retreat November 4-5 at the Malvern Retreat Center. This is a great opportunity for students to bond with classmates, spend time in prayer, and truly "retreat" from school and the daily stresses of life. The retreat will begin Monday at 8:15 AM with students returning at approximately 3:00 PM Tuesday to YC. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Marie Krueger, Campus Minister, at 717-846-8871 x336 or [email protected].
Guaranteed College Admission
Two more universities have extended guaranteed admission to York Catholic students:   Mount St. Mary's University and the University of Scranton!

They join Carlow University, Immaculata University, King's College, and Saint Vincent College in this exciting venture!

Each university has specific GPA and SAT expectations of senior applicants, but the premise of the Guaranteed Admission Plan is the same. Students will be admitted to the university based on minimum GPA and SAT levels set by the university.

Details are posted on the College Connections page of the YC website at as they become available.

Please see Mrs. Phillips in the College and Career Office for more information or email her at [email protected].
College Financial Aid Night/FAFSA Completion
A College Financial Aid Night is planned for families on Thursday, November 7, at 6:30 PM at YC.  A representative from Pennsylvania's Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) will speak about all aspects of financial aid including state and federal grants, loans, work-study, and scholarships.  She will speak on financial aid for all students regardless of which college they plan to attend.  The evening will also include information about completing the FAFSA application for college financial aid. Parents and students who have not yet had the experience of completing the state and federal financial aid forms will find the information extremely valuable. While this presentation is geared toward parents, students are welcome to accompany their parents to get an understanding and appreciation of the financial obligation of a college education.  To register, contact Ms. Kelsey Kman at 717-846-8871 x354 or [email protected]
Artistic Talent on Display

I t is also First Friday so there will be plenty of other galleries open and events going on.
Winter Sports Set to Begin
