Special Veteran's Day Video Produced By DMS

DCHS Graduate Speaks At Veteran's Day Program
Dade County High School held their annual Veteran's Day Program last week and the guest speaker was DCHS Graduate, Mr. Chuck Alsobrook (class of 2003).
In 2007, Mr. Alsobrook joined the Air Force and completed the Fuels Apprentice Course at Sheppard AFB, TX. After graduating from the Community College of the Air Force with a degree in Logistics Management, Alsobrook was stationed at Barksdale AFB, LA. There, he was attached to the 2nd Bomb Wing Logistics Readiness Squadron, where he documented over $12.5 million in fuels distribution to support the Global War on Terrorism. In 2010, Alsobrook graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology.
Alsobrook is accredited by the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs to represent six Veteran Service Organizations, including The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, and the Tennessee Department of Veterans Services. Alsobrook is the immediate past chairman of the Chattanooga Area Veterans Council and past president of the Tennessee County Veterans Association.

Davis Elementary & PTO Host Harvest Festival
Davis Elementary and the Davis PTO held their annual Harvest Festival over the weekend and had a great turn out! Davis Principal Ms. Charity Barton stated "we appreciate all of our PTO officers, parent volunteers, and Davis Staff for making a special event for our Yellow Jackets!" The DES 'Lets Can Hunger' Food Drive
Dade Elementary is hosting their annual "Lets Can Hunger" food drive. They are currently collecting canned food items and will continue to do so until this Wednesday, November 17th. All donated food items will support the local area here in Trenton, GA. If you have questions or would like to send goods in for their campaign, please contact DES Principal, Ms. Tracy Blevins.
DCHS Prepares For 'Apply To College' Day
The month of November is Apply to College Month for graduating seniors! Students are encouraged to plan ahead and apply to colleges of their choice. On Wednesday of this week DCHS will host Apply To College Day and Guidance Counselor, Ms. Amanda Clark will encourage seniors to complete the application process in the media center. DCHS Cheerleaders Advance To Sweet Sixteen
The Dade County High School Competition Cheerleaders competed in Putnam County, GA over the weekend. The team finished as Region 7AA Runner Up! Coach Hurst stated that "it was not the first place we wanted, but we punched our ticket to the Sweet Sixteen for the second year in a row. Highest placement in Region in a long time. Back to work on Monday!" Good luck to the TEAM as they now advance to the Sweet Sixteen.
Stella Henry Signs Letter Of Intent With KSU
On Thursday November 11, 2021, DCHS Senior, Stella Henry signed her Letter Of Intent with Kennesaw State University where she will continue playing softball. Stella was surrounded by her family, coaches, administrators, and a host of friends for the signing party. To see photos of Stella's celebration, click HERE.
