1. Elections have consequences.  You have the power to decide on the quality of life you want for yourself and future generations. Voting is your chance to stand up for the issues you care about like agriculture.  How will the results of the NC Agriculture Commissioner race between Steve Troxler (R-Incumbent) and Jenna Wadsworth (D) affect you and your business?
2. Not voting is giving up your voice.  Elections are decided by the people who go out and vote. Take some time and learn about the measures and the candidates. If you don't vote, someone else will make the decision for you.  Your power is in your vote.
3. It's your money.  You pay taxes, but do you know how that money is being used? Most people don't. Voting is your chance to choose how your tax dollars are spent - such as funding for health care, social services, and essential services.
4. Voting is an opportunity for change.  Do you want to make a positive impact? Voting gives you that chance!  Support the candidates and ballot measures that can help your community, state, and even the nation for the greater good.  Make your voice heard in these elections.
5. The community depends on you.  Our communities are made up of friends, loved ones, neighbors, and children.  Some may not know how important voting is, while others don't have the privilege. Make the decision to vote for yourself and those around you.

In his more than 40-year career as a pest management professional, Clint Miller has seen a lot. His involvement in NCPMA ranks as one of the highlights of his career.

"I don't really know how many years I have been on the board, but it has been some of the most exciting years as a PCO," he said. "Getting engaged with NCPMA was very helpful in my individual company due to the relationships and knowledge that comes from being involved with the trendsetters of our industry. I was introduced to many more operators across the state each year, and it opened doors I could not have opened without this opportunity!"

Clint, of Clint Miller Exterminating in Mount Pleasant, just completed his term as the association's 2019-2020 president and has served on numerous NCPMA Committees including the Public Relations Committee.

He joined the pest management industry through a college summer job and found that he loved being able to help homeowners with their insect and snake problems. He also loved working in crawlspaces which led to one of his most memorable experiences.

"While cleaning out a crawlspace, I came face-to-face with a skunk in an old air duct. The air duct was solid metal and 10 ft long. I rolled it across the ground and out comes a skunk just a couple of feet away!! I have no way to run. The skunk and I are equally surprised, but we both stayed calm, and she proceeds to walk out of the crawlspace with 3 babies following her!" he said.

Clint is an avid outdoorsman who is always on the go and can be found playing golf, hunting, fishing, hiking, snorkeling, riding 4 wheelers, traveling to new places and tasting new foods and wines.
