SERMON SERIES
This is the last worship service in our summer Pastor Potluck Sermon Series. We have heard a variety of amazing pastors preaching on how they share their love of Jesus. Thank you to all our visiting pastors.
WEEK 7:
Sunday we welcome back Pastor Anita Beste. Pastor Anita
recently retired after serving as a pastor for 22 years with three churches: Cambridge Lutheran in Cambridge, Prince of Peace in Roseville, and St. Mark in Circle Pines (interim). She was raised in Nebraska, attended college at Valparaiso University, lived in Chapel Hill, North Carolina as a young adult, and made Minnesota her home since coming to study at Luther Seminary in 1990.
She and her husband, Steve, have 3 daughters all of whom live In Boston - so they visit there often. She enjoys visiting other churches and exploring together how God is shaping us and leading us into ministry in the future.

Pastor Sarah starts August 15th!
We are very excited to welcome Pastor Sarah to our church, and have her lead us! Her first Sunday preaching will be August 18th. Please help us in giving her a warm welcome.

Update from the Church Council
Julie Hyrkas, Member-at-Large of the church council, submitted her letter of resignation on July 17, 2019. The council accepted her resignation.
As per our constitution (Chapter 12.03): should a member's place on the Congregation Council be declared vacant, the Congregation Council shall elect, by majority vote, a successor until the next annual meeting.
The council brought forth the name of the person who received the next most votes at last year's annual meeting.
A motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved to elect Karen Rozeske as the newest Member-at-Large council member.

The next step...
As a next step in our church's healing process, the Congregational Consultant, Susan, recommended our congregation
read the book "Congregational Fitness: Healthy Practices For Layfolk" by Denise W. Goodman. This book is available through Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

No financial update this week, as Katie is taking a much needed vacation with her family! Safe and happy travel, Katie!

A huge thank you to all of those who helped with VBS decorations, preparations, donated food, money, supplies, and volunteered the week of VBS to ensure the kids had a ROARing good time!
We had around 85 people at church last week. Many of them are not members and continue to come back and bring friends and family. Thank you for helping to Share Christ's Love With Joy!

Fish Lake Lutheran Annual Corn Feed
Saturday, August 17th. Begins at 4:30. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, bars, beverages, and all the corn you can eat! $8.00 a person, or 2 for $15.00. There will also be a kids carnival and car wash.
Proceeds will go toward maintaining the historical integrity of Fish Lake Lutheran Church.
