Foreign Interests & Other Support
N IH has published a notice directing NIH-funded researchers to report foreign activities through documentation of other support, foreign components, and financial conflict of interest . Researchers disclose Other Support during Just-In-Time procedures and in RPPR submissions.

Other Support Includes:

  • Project work performed in the U.S. by a foreign researcher
  • Foreign resources/labs that are not used by the NIH project
  • Foreign funding for the PI's research at another U.S. institution

Stay tuned for more detailed guidance on this subject on the OSP website in coming days.

NCURA Virtual Workshop
Rules and Regulations: Where Does It Say We Have To Do That? Federal regulations drive our institutional policies, but to what extent are our policies/procedures required by federal regulation versus the institution? Are these choices a best practice of peer institutions, or simply institutional culture? Can you respond confidently when one of your researchers asks the question, “where does it say we have to do that?”
