Reaches Career High WTA Doubles Ranking
JTCC alumna, Usue Arconada captured the gold medal in the women's doubles with partner Caroline Dolhide at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. The American duo defeated Veronica Cepede-Royg and Montserrat Gonzalez of Paraguay, 6-0, 6-2 in the finals on August 3.
Arconada and Dolhide became the first Americans to win gold in women's doubles in 28-years following in the footsteps of Americans Pam Shriver and Donna Faber in 1991 who played in Cuba.
"I was proud to participate in the Pan American Games following my experience in the first Olympic Games where tennis was a medal sport in 1988 in Seoul," said Hall of Famer Pam Shriver. "The feeling of being part of Team USA cannot be overstated."
