Weekly Update

  • Saturday October 17 was National Move Over Day. The Department, in partnership with North Shore Law Enforcement Agencies, participated in social media campaigns to remind residents of the importance of "moving over" on roadways for flashing lights.

What do you need to do if you see flashing emergency lights
  1. Immediately slow down;
  2. Move over if you can safely do so; and
  3. Switch to a lane that is not immediately next to the emergency vehicle, if possible.
  • The Fire Commission held an assessment center as part of the promotional process for establishing a Captain's Eligibility List on October 21. Thank you to the Village of Brown Deer for allowing the Department to utilize your facilities to hold the assessment center.
