Weekly Bulletin
October 21, 2020
3rd Grade Classroom
Do you have a special way of marking the autumnal season? Have you decorated in celebration of the season, harvest time, or in preparation for Halloween? Driving through neighborhoods in our area, it seems that the pandemic restrictions have inspired some households to go above and beyond with their decorations this year.

If you've decorated your house in some way for the season, please share a photo so we can spread some seasonal cheer through our community!
Scenes from Campus
As the days grow colder and we’ve had more rain, our outdoor students have met the weather head on. Of course, wearing the appropriate gear (and having backups) is essential. It also helps that Waldorf classes always incorporate movement along with desk time. Here's a look at our outdoor classes from a soggy day last week...

Annual High School Greens Fundraiser
Now Through Nov 4

This year we are offering all direct-ship items with delivery right to the door (yours or that of a gift recipient) within the two weeks following Thanksgiving. All payments will be handled online, using PayPal. This time we will send all net profits to the Lakota Waldorf School on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. You are invited to shop and to share the link.

- With thanks from the High School
Giving to the One Fund
“We are so incredibly fortunate to be part of a community that is so dedicated to the well-being of our kids. Our children, one online, one in an outdoor classroom, are being buoyed and protected psychologically, emotionally, and mentally through this pandemic …and it's only possible because of how dedicated the teachers, faculty, and families are to keeping the school open and safe for everyone.”
- Current Parent
Today, your charitable support of the ONE FUND is essential. Your gift, combined with the gifts of each community member, ensures that the School can continue to nimbly adjust to the impacts of the pandemic and serve our students. Donate now at the giving level that is right for your family.

If you have already donated to this year’s annual giving campaign, thank you so much for your support!

If you have any questions regarding the ONE FUND, ways to give, or other ways to support the school, please contact Caitlin MacKenzie.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers Needed for the Virtual Fall Bazaar
We have a number of volunteer opportunities for the Virtual Fall Bazaar. Please contact Maria Monteverde-Jackson if you are able to help with any of the following:
  • Waldorf Store (an online store with both Waldorf inspired gifts and toys, handwork, and school spirit items)
  • Patisserie (an online bake sale with custom items)
  • Craft Kits (activity kits for purchase)
  • Handwork (creating items for sale in our Waldorf Store)

Parent Organization Steering Committee
The Parent Organization (PO) is made up of all parents at WWS. The PO is led by the Parent Organization Steering Committee (POSC), made up of parents from different areas of the school from CG-HS. We currently do not have any POSC members as last year's leadership rolled off, graduated, and moved. If you would like to help lead the Parent Organization in building and maintaining class and school community during this time when we are unable to gather in person, please reach out to Maria Monteverde-Jackson for more information.
Offering Thanks
A number of people are involved in bringing the Bulletin to you each week. Today there are two people we would like to recognize in particular:

  • Many of you know Anne Fleishman from her work at the front desk - most recently during after school hours. During this time she has continued to proof the Bulletin as a volunteer and we are so grateful!
  • Thanks to Lisa Bechmann (CG Teacher & Coordinator) who has been instrumental in identifying the mental health and self care resources that we've shared over the past couple of months.
Many thanks to Dr. Daniel Einstein for his talk on Resilience and Health earlier this week. And thanks to all who attended.

If anyone has follow up questions, please contact Susan Walsh or Judith Graff.
