Masks are required to be worn by the congregation. A limited supply of masks will be available for those who do not have one.
Entrance and exit to the Memorial Garden will be through the Sigourney Street garden gate only.
Upon entrance, an Usher will ask you if you have registered for the 8:00 am service.
IMPORTANT: Please sign-in using the book by the garden gate entrance.
Chairs are set up with 6 ft distance between. Please sit in one of the open spaces, keeping 6 feet between you and others not of your household.
Restrooms in the Narthex are available if needed.
PLEASE NOTE:
If you are not feeling well, running a fever, coughing, etc., you should not attend church until you are well and have completed a 14-day self- quarantine. The same is true for those who have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. If you have, you must complete a 14-day self- quarantine before attending church. Those in vulnerable populations should carefully consider whether or not to attend Sunday public worship.

Grounds Work Day – Saturday, October 24 – 9:00 A.M. – Weather Permitting
Again this year, the Property Team asks for assistance to prepare Trinity’s grounds for winter. The Grounds Work Day planned is on Saturday, October 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon.

10/25 “What is our work in this moment? Discerning Trinity’s role in racial healing, justice, and reconciliation”—led by Rev. D
In this forum, Rev. D will present the resolution that passed at the most recent Convention of ECCT entitled, “Acknowledging and Confronting Systemic Racism, White Supremacy, and Anti-Black Bias” There will then facilitate a conversation for members of the Trinity community to share about how they feel called as people of faith to respond to these issues and about what it looks like for Trinity to continue to engage in this work.
11/8 “The Abolition of Slavery and the Struggle for Women’s Rights: The Grimke Sisters and the Amistad Incident”—led by the Rev. Dr. Frank Kirkpatrick
The issue of racism and the Church’s response to it is much in our minds today. I will provide a look at how the Church and some individual Christians responded to slavery and the denial of women’s rights in the antebellum period in America. I will discuss the life and thought of two remarkable women (white, Southern, from slave—holding families), Sarah and Angelina Grimke, who were in the forefront of the movement for the abolition of slavery and for the equality of women. In particular we will see how their deeply felt evangelical faith propelled them into an active struggle against male domination and the failure of the churches to address issues of social injustice. We will also look briefly at the Amistad incident in which African captives fought to be freed from captivity, including a brief period in Farmington, and returned to their native Africa.

A/V Guild
Are you interested in Audio/Video production? Are you comfortable hosting zoom meetings? Are you comfortable with email and PowerPoint? Are you willing to learn about any of the above things? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, I invite you to become a part of the A/V Guild. For the past several months, Jake Troiano and Casey Rousseau have been serving as our Digital Vergers on Sunday mornings and our tech team behind the scenes. We are very grateful for their service, and they need help to keep it going! As we seek to continue having meaningful online worship with the option of hybrid in person/online worship, we need additional people to be a part of the A/V Guild. We need people who are willing to come in person on Sunday mornings, people who are going to be on zoom on Sunday mornings, and people who are willing to help prepare worship materials during the week. (Re)connect
The community of Trinity Church last gathered in person on March 8, 2020. Since then, we have continued to gather online every week for worship. And thanks to the tireless efforts of our “virtual vergers” Casey Rousseau and Jacob Troiano, we have become accustomed to Zoom coffee hours, where we have a chance to check in with some of our fellow parishioners. Technically speaking, we have much to be thankful for. Nonetheless, many of us feel disconnected from our parish. We are used to reaching out physically, and seeing folks on a computer screen just doesn’t feel the same
As part of the Annual Appeal, we’re planning to provide a simple and safe way to reconnect with each other, by doing something old fashioned and physical: writing notes to each other. For several years this practice was a regular part of the Annual Appeal. We hope that reviving it will help us all feel just a little bit more connected to our faith community. We’ll explain more about how this will work, so stay tuned!

You’re invited….
In response to a conversation with Al Shuckra, last May a small group of Trinity parishioners decided to read and discuss “The Universal Christ” by Richard Rohr, meeting by Zoom every Monday evening for an hour, over a number of months. The last chapter we read together the week after Al died.
Our experience was so rich that we’ve decided to continue. Our next book is “The Book of Joy,” the fruit of a weeklong visit between the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
Would you be interested in reading this book with us and joining our weekly discussions?
We will meet Mondays from 7:30 to 8:30 pm via Zoom beginning again on Monday, November 9.

Would you like an opportunity to meet with other women for reading, reflection and discussion on matters of the Christian faith? If so, please consider attending Women Together, which meets weekly via Zoom on Tuesdays from 2:00-3:15 pm. Trinity's Book Group –
Open to all - is now meeting via Zoom! The next meeting, on December 4th at 7:00 pm, will feature the new novel Sea Wife by Trinity parishioner Amity Gaige. This book weaves the story of a family's suspenseful adventure of living at sea with the joys and struggles of marriage and parenthood. It's received glowing reviews and is available through bookstores and Amazon. Folks are welcome to attend Book Group regularly or on a one-time basis.
