Important Beginning of School Information
MCS Health Office and News
We hope that you are having a wonderful fun filled and health summer. We want to make you aware of the new changes and give you ample time to coordinate doctors appointments before school starts. Remember the last weeks in august are always busy for our local orange county pediatricians before the start of the school year- it's best to get those appointments in now before the rush.
The parent/guardian is urged, with the help of your child's authorized health care provider, to work out a schedule of giving medication at home whenever possible.
Chronic Medical Conditions
Students requiring management or accommodations for chronic medical conditions should have a written note of diagnosis, treatment plans and limitations on file with the school.
Please contact the health office BEFORE the first day of school to discuss any health concerns you may have for your child.
Immunizations
On July 1, 2019 new legislation went into effect impacting California immunization law.
If your child is missing doses of the required vaccines and advancing to 7th grade, they will not be allowed to attend school until we have copies of all updated shot records.
If your child has a Medical exemption, please contact the school as soon as possible to discuss your students immunization status.
If your child is in grades K-6 or 8, please contact your child's health care provider to confirm they are up to date on all boosters, and submit copies of any shots received over the summer to the health office before school starts.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school health office by email at
kmatus@marinerscs.org.
