Health Fair Presentation Spotlight:
"Normal vs. Not Normal Aging
|
Dementia is a hot topic these days and more people are concerned of getting this diagnosis than any other. Misplacing your keys or your car in a lot does not equal dementia, yet these mishaps
bring great concern and fear to many middle-aged adults.
This workshop with Teresa Youngstrom of
A Better Approach to Memory Care will sharpen the assessment skills of the participants and provide useful techniques to keep the peace with true brain failure. The highlight is two dramas that demonstrate true dementia vs. benign symptoms of normal aging.

The Noon Service is Now Hearing-Impaired Friendly!
We are pleased to announce that beginning Sunday, September 1, there will be an
American Sign Language
(ASL) interpreter at The Noon Service, providing ASL translations of this service for our friends in the deaf community. What originally began as an effort to make this service available to a larger community, has very quickly grown. We hope that ultimately by providing this service, we can better serve those who currently attend, and extend out to others a new way to be included in worship.
The Noon Service is rooted in the
beauty
, simplicity, and rich diversity of the Anglican tradition. This worship service combines prayer, silence, music, scripture, and discussion. We
sing
ancient hymn texts set to evocative, timeless music prepared and led by local songwriters. We
reflect
and
discuss
the Scripture readings of the day. We
pray
for the needs of the world and
share
a simple Eucharistic feast using wine and bread. All are welcome! 12:00 pm every Sunday in Centennial Chapel.
