Dear Residents,
Congratulations! We are now in Phase 3 of reopening following the COVID-19 shutdown and can look hopefully ahead to Phase 4 in the coming weeks.
As we move further into resuming our normal behavior it remains essential that we all
continue to wear our masks and take common sense precautions when we are out and about.
While we are being cautious we also have to look forward. You may have noticed that
construction activity has resumed in the city
and that more and more of our local businesses have reopened.
- We modified the sidewalk dining permit process in June to encourage more restaurants to take advantage of this outdoor dining option and processed more than double the number of permits we usually process!
- We worked with the White Plains BID to present a drive-in movie series and continue to work with the business community on ways the city can encourage a safe return to normal activity.
We all want to see our vibrant downtown active and bustling again, and I believe we will get there.
I want to thank our residents and business community – our success is due to the fact that
we have all worked together, making continual progress toward our goal.
With my sincere appreciation,
Mayor Tom Roach
