Decide between Individual Stroke Play or Match Play. If you have never played Match, this is a fun way to give it a try. You will be matched against a player within your handicap level or maybe you'll decide to challenge your friend. Indicate that when you sign up.   Pay at the course but sign up on our website.

The Club recommends riding, especially the back 9 as the terrain is a difficult walk for even the most avid walker.
Championship Series A Success
There were 20 Stroke players and 5 Scramble teams that competed in our Chapter Qualifier at River Oaks Golf Course. It was a beautiful day and everyone reported having a great time.

Minnesota Metro Local Championship Qualifier - Location Search Committee
Our Chapter has been fortunate to have River Oaks GC host our championship the past several years. They have generously allowed us to start on holes 1 and 10 on a weekend and the course is a great fit for our tournament criteria and play-ability for all levels of competitor.

This year, HQ eliminated the tournament fee ($50) resulting in a lower cost for participants.  The biggest change for 2020 is the elimination of Scramble competition as part of this event. (Scrambles now have their own event, The Scramble Open ) With these changes, we plan to revisit course selection with the goal of having a "rotation" of 2-3 courses (with River Oaks remaining on that list). The goal would be to have a recommendation to the board in October.

The Chapter is looking for 3 volunteers to be on the search committee. Ann Borders, Past President will chair this committee. Criteria for members:
>>    Played in the championship in the last 3 years (scramble or stroke play)
>>   Range of handicaps

>>   Willing to objectively review courses against site selection            criteria

>>   May involve 1-2 in person meetings (August-September)
