Summer Youth Employment
a look at emergency responder careers

On July 20, East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) commenced with its second annual Mayor’s Youth Summer Police and Fire Academy, a local youth program that helps participants learn what it’s like to be an emergency responder. The program was initiated last summer by East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva who recognized the need for area youth to increase their awareness of work being done by the law enforcement officers and firefighters in their town of East Providence. Mayor DaSilva also realized that local police officers and fire fighters would benefit from the additional opportunities to interact with city’s youth and young adults


EBCAP’s Head Start, Early Head Start, and Pre-K enrolling now for September opening

East Bay Community Action Program’s Head Start Program is enrolling children for the start of the program year which will begin September 1, 2020. A new Pre-K classroom has been added at EBCAP’s Head Start Kennedy School (Middletown, RI) location, and there are also eight Pre-K Head Start classroom spots open at that location. The program will be open at full capacity, and it is adhering to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and State of Rhode Island guidelines for health and safety.

EBCAP President to Receive Providence Business News Award

Dennis Roy, President and CEO of East Bay Community Action Program, will be honored by Providence Business News on August 20, 2020 with a "Leaders and Achievers" award. The awards will be presented at 4 pm during a virtual awards ceremony.

East Bay Community Action Program is working with the Census Bureaus to ensure our communities are counted. We'd like to remind everyone that it's vital that everyone completes the census. It doesn't take long! And there are plenty of options on how to complete it:
