Council Member Cisneros' Annual District H Resource Fair
Join Council Member Cisneros for a District H Resource Fair at    St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (501 Tidwell) on Saturday, August 24th from 10 am to 1 pm. View the bilingual flyer here . In addition to presentations, there will be attorneys, consulates, health care resources, literacy resources, education and child-care resources, banking services, housing & repair services, non-profits, and more to support and share info with the community.
Upcoming I-45 Workshops
The City and its technical team are gathering input to develop alternative designs and make recommendations to TXDOT and has developed an interactive map that can be accessed here. Please join Council Member Cisneros for the upcoming COH Planning Department Workshops on the IH-45 project. More info here . Additional workshops are being scheduled for late Sept./early Oct. (TBD).

Free Spay-Neuter Opportunities in District H
Council Member Cisneros and BARC are hosting two Healthy Pets Healthy Streets events next week. These VOUCHER-only events ( don't bring your pets ) are part of an initiative to offer free spay/neuter and wellness services to pet owners in neighborhoods with a large number of stray animals and dog bite complaints in the City. District H Back to School Fairs & Giveaways
It's that time again! Prepare your family for the start of school by attending one of these District H events, which feature backpacks, school supplies, health resources, screenings, and more.

  • Every year, Council Member Cisneros delivers backpacks directly to District H elementary schools based on each individual school's needs. Council Member Cisneros understands that some families are unable to attend the various back to school events so her backpack initiative is unique in guaranteeing that every elementary school child will have a backpack on the first day of school. Second Ward: Single-Family Home Development Program
The City of Houston's Housing and Community Development Dept. is holding a community outreach meeting to gather input on the sort of amenities and design features the community would like to see in New Homes, the affordable, single-family construction program planned for the Second Ward. Seeking After-School Program Providers
Council Member Cisneros funds after-school programs in schools, community centers, and churches each year in District H via CASE for Kids. If you are a provider for an after-school program and would like to be considered for this funding, please apply here by August 30, 2019 at 2 pm.
Military & Veterans
Many Voices Participate (MVP) Coffee Series hosted by the Astros Foundation will host an event featuring the Mayor's Director of Veteran Affairs, Dr. Steven Hall who will be speaking on Military/Veterans. Register here.
