If you wish to nominate an individual, see the nomination form to be completed and sent to Ontario East Economic Development by the deadline of 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 23rd 2019. The winner will be announced at OEMC.

Rural Economic Development (RED) Program Now Open
Application Intake: July 29 to September 9, 2019

Ontario’s Rural Economic Development (RED) program is cost-share funding which supports activities that create strong rural communities in Ontario, and opens doors to rural economic development by:

  • Providing funding assistance to address barriers to economic development, to better position rural communities to attract and retain jobs, and investment, and enhance economic growth;
  • Providing funding to build community capacity and support for economic development in Ontario’s rural communities; and
  • Investing in rural communities to help diversify and grow local economies – making economic growth more inclusive so Rural Ontario continues to share in the province’s economic prosperity.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Research and Marketing Coordinator is primarily responsible for marketing and communications, membership support and database management, and research activities to support the organization’s strategic plan and futuristic vision. 

The position is multi-faceted role and requires flexibility, efficiency and excellent time management. The ideal candidate will have experience in digital marketing and communications, website maintenance and database management and event coordination. An understanding of economic development or experience working in an economic development role will be considered an asset.
