The Mayor and Board of Aldermen recently met in an all-day event for the purpose of strategic planning. This is the third year in a row the Board has come together to outline their vision and priorities. This is an important process in aligning resources to provide superior services to our community. The themes that emerged were focused on Economic Development, Serving the Customer, Good Governance, and Developing Internally. A summary of the meeting will be published soon.

Young Eagles Flight Day
August 10th from 10 am - 2 pm at the Grand Glaize Airport, weather permitting.

Kids ages 8-17 can fly for free thanks to the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1254. It's a day of fun, food and flying that could inspire a young person to pursue a career in aviation!

Updates from the Public Works Department
  1. Swiss Village Well: bidding is complete and this project will be under construction in September.
  2. Bidding is complete on the Dude Ranch Rd Sidewalk project. Construction will begin in mid-August.
  3. Antioch Road Sewer/Water extension project and road improvements are in the design phase.
  4. The Transportation Department is extremely busy with mowing and trash removal. They have recently completed road improvements on Swiss Village, Fire Station Road, Antioch and Cayman, to name a few.
  5. The Water Department is in the process of laying water lines from Swiss Village water tower to the new well.

Safeguard Yourself Against Cyber Attacks
WHAT Is Cybersecurity?
Cyberattacks are malicious attempts to access or damage a computer system. Cyberattacks can lead to loss of money, theft of personal information, and damage to your reputation and safety. Cyberattacks are malicious attempts to access or damage a computer system.

IDENTIFY Cyberattacks:
·          They can use computers, mobile phones, gaming systems, and other devices;
·          Can include identity theft;
·          Can block your access or delete your personal documents and pictures;
·          Can target children; and
·          Can cause problems with business services, transportation, and power.

PROTECT Yourself Against a Cyberattack
·          Keep software and operating systems up-to-date
·          Use strong passwords and two-factor authentication (two methods of verification).
·     Watch for suspicious activity. When in doubt, don't click. Do not provide personal information.
·          Use encrypted (secure) internet communications.
·          Create backup files.
·          Protect your home and/or business WiFi network.

PREVENT a Cyberattack by:
1.        Use a password manager to store all of your passwords.
2.        Use a biometric scan (e.g., fingerprint scanner) to authenticate.
3.        Think before you click.
4.        Check your account statements and credit reports regularly.
5.        Use secure internet communications. HTTPS://
6.        Use antivirus solutions, malware, and firewalls to block threats.
7.        Regularly back up your files to a file storage device.
8.        Do NOT use your work email account to limit the personal information you share online. Change privacy settings and do not use location features.
9.        Protect your home network by changing the administrative and Wi-Fi passwords regularly. When configuring your router, choose the Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2) Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) setting, which is the strongest encryption option.
