Compassionate Community,
and Relationships

Here is an update of what is happening at
House of Prayer this week!
Worship This Sunday
Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give alms. Make purses for yourselves that do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Luke 12:32-34

God's love for us knows no bounds and God's deepest desire is to provide the kingdom for us, including a heavenly future and a Spirit-filled present. There are times however when we prevent ourselves from experiencing the fullness of God's abundant blessings. How we think about and utilize our possessions and wealth has a lot do with our relationship with God. If we trust God will provide for our needs and live without fear, we can experience more peace, joy, and contentment. If are constantly anxious and worried about never having enough, we will suffer emotionally and spiritually. Join us Sunday as we consider the liberating gift God provides for us: a life beyond worry and anxiety toward a life of contentment.

Raffle Items for Parking Lot Party
Each year at the Parking Lot Party we have various baskets that are raffled off to attendees. The raffle tickets are free, and are drawn throughout the afternoon to announce the winners. It is a very popular part of the Parking Lot Party, and the baskets are amazing! We need your help to donate items to create these baskets. Some ideas that have been popular in past years include; baking baskets, holiday baskets (Halloween, Christmas, etc.), art baskets, craft baskets, baby baskets, back to school baskets; the possibilities are endless! The best part is that many of these items can be found at the Dollar Tree! Please contact Jill Larson at [email protected] or Gretchen Swenson at [email protected] for more information and other ideas for potential baskets!

Meals on Wheels Drivers Needed
Drivers are needed to provide a nutritious meal to homebound persons in our Richfield area. Meals on Wheels drivers provide meals to the lonely, sick, elderly, and handicapped not only with food, but also with understanding, patience, smiles and listening ears. We pledge to give of ourselves, never forgetting that in the giving, we also receive. Contact Sue Burt at 952-888-4939 for more information on the vital outreach.
Summer Collaboration Project-VEAP Diapers
The VEAP Collaboration Team, with a VEAP representative from each church - Oak Grove, House of Prayer, and Woodlake - asks you to bring diapers from now until the end of September. The diapers can be any size and quantity. If you would prefer they be purchased by others, please contribute with a check made out to House of Prayer and designate "VEAP Donate & Do" in the memo line.  We will pick a Saturday in October for volunteers to meet at the VEAP warehouse to repackage the diapers for distribution. During this repackaging, VEAP gives the volunteers a tour of their facilities so we can see the whole operation and how they serve our neighbors in need. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, so plan to bring your whole family. Thank you for your continued support of this awesome organization.

If you are attending ReFuel worship please check the box on the green card under "How Can We Pray For You".  If you would like to be in the prayer chain email to pray for others please write your email address on the card and include "Add me to the Prayer Chain Email List." Let's Visit!
Would you like a visitor from one of our pastoral staff members? While we often hear of needs within the congregation, sometimes we are unaware of the needs within our family of faith. Pastor Ben or Pastor Kelly would be happy to visit any of our members or friends who would like a pastoral visit. These visits could be health related but could be for any reason. Contact the church office via telephone 612-866-8471 or Pastor Ben via email [email protected].
