For ALL Family Services Program Providers (Parenting, Family Strengthening, and Family and Neighborhood Support Programs)
UM Coach and Training and Implementation Associates are The Children’s Trust new Program and Professional Development funded providers for all the Family Services programs. Our main goal is to provide you, your team, and your agency with support in the implementation of your Children’s Trust Family Services program (Parenting, Family Strengthening, and Family and Neighborhood Support Programs). This Needs Assessment will represent the start of your training record for The Children's Trust new training requirements for Parenting, Family Strengthening, and Family and Neighborhood Support programs that go into effect August 1, 2019. Please be as honest as possible as you complete the Needs Assessment, as it will help drive the training and coaching content that is developed to support your work. Each Family Services program staff member should complete the Needs Assessment survey by Friday, August 19, 2019. The survey should take approximately 15-25 minutes to complete. Trust-Funded Providers MUST UPDATE Staff Positions on Trust Central
In August, the website used to register for all training events and to take online courses will change. This change will affect ALL Trust-funded providers.
You must take action to have your past and future training count toward metrics requirements.

With this change, in addition to the great training classes and online courses currently offered by The Children’s Trust and our partners, staff of Trust-funded programs will have access to a FREE catalog of hundreds of online courses in the areas of child/youth care, professional development, and safety practices. The first step is for your Trust Central Agency Admin to include staff information in Trust Central. All staff whose position is partially or fully funded through a Trust contract and required to take training must be included in Trust Central.

Wanted: 2019 Family Expo Volunteers
The Family Expo is looking for volunteers to lend a hand! Taking place on Saturday, September 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition Center, the FREE event attracts hundreds of child and family services exhibitors sharing vital information with approximately 15,000 visitors. The day is also marked by a slew of fun activities for kids, including interactive games, a robotics room, live musical performances, face painters, and arts and crafts, to name just a few.

Time Running Out for 2020 Census Grants!
Miami-Dade Counts 2020 is interested in funding efforts in Miami-Dade County to encourage full participation in the 2020 Census. The grants will range from $5,000 to $25,000 and will be awarded to nonprofit and governmental organizations with thoughtful, culturally sensitive, and innovative strategies for reaching communities that have historically low rates of participation in the census.   • Discovering Inclusion For new staff, and/or those with little or no previous knowledge about youth with disabilities. This workshop introduces various types of disabilities, identifies the characteristics and benefits of an inclusive program, and provides information on using People First Language and respectful etiquette.
  • Introduction to Successful Inclusion of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) - Part 1 What is Autism Spectrum Disorder? Learn how to help children meet behavioral expectations, recognize and accommodate those with sensory sensitivities, foster social competence, address bullying, and ensure a safe environment.

Maternal Depression Awareness Workshop *
Join the Postpartum Healing and Education Center for a “Maternal Depression Awareness Workshop” that deals with risk factors, PPD/Baby blues symptoms, etiology, treatment options/How to help suffering moms and the Edinburg scale. Candidates for Citizen Review Panel of the Florida Foster Care Review
Florida Foster Care Review, which advances the safety, stability and success of abused and neglected children, youth and young adults by connecting them to essential services, healthy relationships and forever families, seeks caring community members to volunteer 1 weekday a month for a minimum of 1 year to serve on its Citizen Review Panel (CRP); volunteers must be at least 25 years old. The CRP reviews active, judge-referred child welfare court cases at the Children's Courthouse.

Health Coordinator for Head Start/Early Head Start (Full-Time)*
Interested candidates must have at a minimum an associate degree in Health Services Administration, Health Care Management, Nursing or related field. Candidates must be detail-oriented, have some management experience working in a school setting to coordinate and facilitate health services for children, develop and implement safety procedures, and ensure program quality assurance.

Early Head Start Teachers (Full-Time)*
Qualified candidates must have at a minimum a CDA with focus on infants and toddlers, knowledge of early childhood education practices and one year experience working in early care and education settings. Knowledge and ability to implement the Creative Curriculum for Infants and Toddlers, customer service skills a must, and be bilingual ability (English/Creole) is a plus.

Family Support Specialist *
A family support specialists (FSS) is needed within the United Way, Eden Place to provide services to individuals and families to improve their life trajectories. FSS use a strength-based case management model to aid in assessing each client's basic and familial needs, while providing linkages to healthcare, employment, housing and educational resources. The specialist will keep detailed case notes and documents and record client data. Family Support Specialist must be empathetic, communicative and well-organized.

Arts For Learning (A4L) is in urgent need of a Program Manager who will be responsible for the successful implementation of select A4L after-school and summer camp programs at various partner locations, as well as managing A4L’s studio program located in West Coconut Grove. A4L’s studio program, the Lewis Arts Studio, is a creative haven for middle school students who have a passion for the visual arts. Economic Empowerment Program Coordinator
The YWCA is seeking an individual to be responsible for coordinating the YWCA’s Economic Empowerment/Prosperity Program, providing financial literacy, coaching, planning and financial and social services referrals for women and families; responsible for required activities, outcomes, deliverables of the EEP Program; Level 2 clearance, drug test required. The Site Coordinator at Miami Northwestern Senior High will be responsible for implementing the after-school program to support students growth both academically and emotionally through curriculum development and implantation. Florida Certified Elementary Teacher for After-School Program 
Miami Children’s initiative has an opening for a certified elementary teacher who will provide services that strengthen the home/school partnership. A part-time certified teacher who will teach academic enrichment toward college and career readiness is being sought for students at Miami Northwestern Senior High School. Teachers are expected to actively instruct students, create lessons, communicate with parents and assist students in preparing for standardized testing. Must pass a level two background screening.

Student and Family Advocate for After-School Program
A transportation specialist is needed to transport students to and from educational programs at Charles R .Drew and Miami Northwestern Senior High School. The candidate must be able to engage children, communicate in English and be able to participate in several evening and weekend events. Must hold a chauffeur’s license, have a clean driving record and pass a level two background screening.

Community and Family Advocate - Part Time
Miami Children’s Initiative seeks a part time Advocate to assist families living in Liberty City. The Advocate will contribute to the development of health, safety and educational needs by coordinating intervention strategies, organizing community activities and acting as a liaison to engage community agencies.
