Scripture Reading -
Genesis 1:1-3
In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
Devotion
If the solar system was brought about by an accidental collision, then the appearance of organic life on this planet was also an accident, and the whole evolution of Man was an accident too. If so, then all our present thoughts are mere accidents - the accidental by-products of the movement of atoms. And this holds for the thoughts of the materialists and astronomers as well as anyone else’s. But if
their
thoughts - i.e., of Materialism and Astronomy - are merely accidental by-products, why should we believe them to be true? I see no reason for believing that one accident should be able to give me a correct account of all the other accidents. It’s like expecting that the accidental shape taken by the splash when upset a milk jug should give you a correct account of how the jug was made and why it was upset.

Spiritual Exercise
Buy a flower from a shop or take one from your garden and enjoy it. Capture the experience in a way that is natural to you, in order to savor and continue it at a later time. Take a photograph; make a drawing or sketch; write about it in your journal. Share the experience with another person by the describing the beauty that you saw.

Prayer
Thanks be to thee, my Lord Jesus Christ,
For all the benefits Thou has given me,
For all the pains and insults Thou has borne for me.
O most merciful Redeemer, friend and brother,
May I know Thee more clearly,
Love Thee more dearly,
Follow Thee more nearly.
