COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
We are thankful that we can get back to most of the parent and guest activities that we have been missing for more than a year. Just about a year ago, many of the celebrations or gatherings were unable to happen due to COVID. We are grateful that once again our students can perform in front of their favorite people and our families and community are again coming through our doors to events. This is something that we appreciate about "The Falcon Way".

In gratitude,
Melissa

A New Look at DC West
Recently, the Board of Education approved an exterior maintenance project that allowed the Middle/High School building to receive a fresh new look. One of the goals in our district facility updates has been to maintain the building envelope to be water tight and insulated. The metal roof, kalwall, and EIFS trim on the building had aged and were not as efficient as they could be. A maintenance project that included sealing and painting the metal roof, replacing the EIFS with metal panels, and replacing the kalwall on the north gym began in the summer and just wrapped up this month. The maintenance of these items also allowed the district to change the color of the former blue metal roofing to a more updated look in charcoal gray. We feel fortunate to have budget in our depreciation fund that can support maintenance projects such as this.
