Message from the President
|
Hi Ladies,
Women of Infinite Possibilities is off to a great start in 2020. We had a fantastic meeting in January featuring presenter Dian Lusher. Dian shared best practices with networking. One of my takeaways was making sure I always have my business cards in my pocket and not my purse. Also, following up with an email and not trying to get everything in with the first introduction.
Our first free PEG for 2020 was held on February 1, 2020, called Mobile Device Magic. I want to thank Faith Carr for putting this together. We've already started a list of persons interesting in attending this PEG if repeated. Contact us at
womenofinfinitepossibilites@gmail.com
if you would like to have your name added to that list.
Please remember to bring a friend to the meetings. First time guests are free, but if a guest has not yet joined and is returning, it's only $ 10 to attend.
I look forward to seeing you on February 20, 2020, for the Mardi Gras Reverie!
Your President,
Julie Taylor

The kickoff event for 2020 during our January, 2020 General Meeting was a grand success! We were inspired by speaker
Dian Lusher. Dian kept us engaged, thinking, and laughing! She shared a lot of wisdom to help us improve our networking and collaborating skills.
Members relished a bit of the history of this great organization through information shared by our meeting sponsor,
Jax Frey. Jax helped establish the Women of Infinite Possibilities in 2009. She shared her beautiful painting depicting the fabulous ladies highlighted in her first novel,
The Gumbeaux Sistahs. To her, this organization was built in the spirit of those lively characters.
Throughout the meeting, participants were inspired to continually strive to share gifts we have within each of us with others and teach each other, reaching out through our experiences, knowledge, talents and expertise.
During the business portion of the meeting 2020 Board members, both new and returning shared news and updates with the membership relative to their duties.
It was a pleasure to welcome several new members and welcomed back members who had been away for a period of time. As always, some were able to extend the fun attending what we fondly call the lunch bunch.
We are pleased to introduce the 2020 Board of Directors: Pictured below, from the left: Board President, Julie Taylor, Membership Assistant, Dr. Bea Desper, Adventures and PEGs Dir., Linda Hudson, Secretary-Treasurer, Sandy Hughes, Vice-President & Membership Dir., Kathleen Garey, Community Partners Dir., Mary Ellen Guillory, Communications, Dir., Faith Carr, and Speakers & Sponsors Dir., Shirley DeLuzain (not pictured).

Seven ladies gathered on Saturday morning, February 1, 2020, for an introduction to G-Suite (r) mobile device computing. Fatih Carr, WIP member, and retired instructional media specialist was the facilitator or the three-hour Personal Empowerment Group (PEG). It was fun to learn how to collaborate in real-time using Google tools such as Docs, Forms, and Calendar for the first time for many. Watch our website and Facebook page for more PEGs and Adventures in the coming months. Let us know what you are interested in learning, as well. The 2020 planning calendar is still being developed and we welcome suggestions from our membership.

for a day filled with laughter and fun. Registration and networking will begin at 9:00 am with the days activities kicking off at 10:00. You won’t want to miss it. Oh - be sure to bring a friend!
I am thrilled to be a part of the
2020 Smart Women’s Day Out
!. This years theme,
INSPIRING WOMEN - THEN & NOW
will feature inspiring women who represent the voice of progress for women. Throughout history women have fought courageously and tirelessly to assert themselves as individuals and experts in their field. Our goal for the day is to to learn and be inspired by inspirational and trailblazing women from our regional area. By exploring the past we can appreciate how far we have come, and more importantly continue to find inspiration in what may seem impossible.
Stay tuned for our announcement of location and “special guests" as we get closer to the event. Sponsorships and ticket sales are just around the corner so plan ahead for this fun filled day.
Thanks in advance for all those who have volunteered to be part of the committee! The more the merrier.

Thanks to generous donations, such as yours, we are able to provide free funerals to those in need. Your donation is tax deductible, and will help ensure that the next family will have fewer burdens to bear during their time of loss."
