WE ARE EXCITED TO INTRODUCE KAT ROMERO!
Kat Romero serves as the Operations Assistant for the Oklahoma Conference of Churches.
Kat grew up in Norman, but attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs, where she majored in English and Religious Studies. Her love for faith-based communities and ecumenism was born there, resulting in research projects that explored conversion into the Eastern Orthodox Church and feast day observations in Italian religious communities.
Kat eventually returned to Norman and received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Oklahoma. She has worked throughout the nonprofit field, with experience in the areas of domestic violence, health and safety, field research, and child welfare. Kat also serves as the Coordinator of the Oklahoma Link Coalition, a network of professionals and volunteers formed around the link between animal abuse and family violence. She is also Board President for the Friends of the Norman Library, and loves public libraries, genealogy, gardening, and sewing. Kat lives in Norman with her two kitties, Delta and Eve.
