Do you feel like you're being paid enough for the value you provide to your organization? Would you like to negotiate for a raise? Or, are you interviewing for a new job and have difficulty when it comes to salary and benefit negotiations? As good as we are at raising money for the mission of the organizations we work for, we could be better at negotiating a salary that is reflective of the value we bring to work with us.
AFP knows this about us, and they have a
FREE solution now available on the website. This online workshop is designed to address the gender gap in salaries and help women better negotiate for wages and benefits. It's good training for the guys too - but, it is worth noting that 70 percent of fundraising professionals are female.
According to the AFP website, "The skills and knowledge provided in the workshop, while focused on salary and benefit negotiations, will help fundraisers in a variety of conversations - including talking with donors, making "the ask," and addressing tough topics with colleagues." The workshop also highlights the salary gap in the profession.
This partnership with the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is just one of several new - FREE - benefits you receive with your AFP membership.
Thank you for serving our community in ALL that you do for your organizations!
Save the date for National Philanthropy Day November 15, 2019.
This year's opening session is what every fundraiser needs to hear, "Break the Rules: When Best Practices Aren't and What to Do Instead," led by keynote speakers Alice Ferris and James Anderson with
Goal Busters Consulting.
Includes breakfast, snacks, and 16 education points.
*Participation in the AFP CFRE Refresher Course may assist you in learning or reviewing concepts covered on the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) examination as detailed on the Test Content Outline provided by CFRE International. However, the AFP CFRE Refresher Course is not designed specifically as a prep course for the exam. It is designed to provide a review of concepts one should know at the five-year experience level. AFP highly recommends that this refresher course be just one of the resources you use in preparing to take the CFRE exam. Your study should also include reading books that appear on the CFRE Resource Reading List.
