After a long, warm and dry summer it looks like autumn is finally upon us. Each season brings its own unique beauty and character to everyone's water features.

In this month's newsletter we wish farewell to one of our long-time employees. There is also a great article about prepping your pond for fall, information on a True Pump award, this month's Aquascape video and much more!

Stay safe and healthy!

Happy Pondering,

The True Pump Team

Coronavirus Update
Most of our safety policies remain the same and we are currently in a holding pattern waiting to see what may happen with winter trade shows and spring seminars. Thanks to everyone for your understanding as we navigate these uncharted waters together.

We are still limiting the number of people to come into the store at any time. All customers are required to wear a mask when entering and maintain proper social distancing, as per City of Denver restrictions. We have hand sanitizer and wipes available. The quickest and easiest ordering options will continue to be online and curbside pickup. When arriving at the store please ring the doorbell to let us know you've arrived since all doors will remain locked.

The health and safety of our customers and employees will continue to be our top priority. Thanks to all of you for your outpouring of support and encouragement during these difficult times. We will continue to monitor information from public health authorities, and will communicate updates on a regular basis via email and social media.

Fall Pond Care
The fall season is a wondrous time to enjoy your water garden, what with all the luscious colors, fewer bugs, and comfortable temperatures. To keep your pond looking its best during the autumn season, follow our simple tips on how to care for your pond during fall.

1. Remove leaves and debris

In some areas, leaves can start dropping before they even turn color. Your pond skimmer will do a good job removing leaves and debris from the surface of the water. If you notice a few have settled to the bottom of the pond, remove them before they have a chance to decay. Be careful of slippery rocks underfoot if you decide to venture into the pond to remove leaves and debris from the pond's bottom. If you don't like getting wet and don't own a pair of waders, you can use a pond net to remove them. You'll know you have too much organic matter accumulated in the pond when the water starts turning brown. If this happens, add Aquascape Activated Pond Carbon or Aquascape Clear for Ponds to help clear the water.

Congratulations!
Thanks, Aquascape, for honoring True Pump with the Regional Leadership Award! It means even more after all of the challenges we've faced this past year. Special thanks also to the entire True Pump team and all of our great customers who helped make this possible, we couldn't do it without you!

We also want to congratulate BR&D Landscape, Inc. for being named #1 Aquascape Contractor in the country for the second year in a row! And congrats to all the Colorado "Top Frogs" including Colorado Pond Pros, Rocky Mountain WaterScape, Hiner Outdoor Living and Serenity Falls Water Features.

Farewell and Good Luck
We are a bit sad to announce that after almost 20 years with True Pump, Bill McCaslin will be retiring on October 30. Bill began with us on January 7, 2002 and has helped thousands of homeowners and contractors install, troubleshoot and maintain their water features during that time. His incredible work ethic and dry sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Those of you that know Bill well know he is a "behind the scenes" type of guy. He doesn't really like to be the center of attention but as we wish him farewell we'd like to place your focus directly on him. So please stop by the store to say hi to Bill and wish him well if you have time over the next couple of weeks. You can also email him directly at [email protected] or give him a call at the office at 303.744.3505.

Thanks, Bill, for being a great friend and good luck in your retirement!

We  Being "Your Pond Store"
We recently received the following review from Leo Ba on Google:

"This store is great, they have a wide selection of pond supplies. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I went in for a pump for my waterfall and the nice lady helped me with everything from the hose to what size I needed. She also helped me stay in budget, they have pretty good prices and will work with you. I also had a great experience with them a couple months ago when I counldn't find any water lilies, they were the only store that had them and had a wide selection of beautiful colors."

Thanks, Leo! We sincerely appreciate everyone who has taken the time to review us on Google, Yelp and Facebook. We'd love to hear from each of you why True Pump is "Your Pond Store"!
