2021-22 School Theme: Celebrate Learning Together

Transferring to BA for high school turned out to be the best decision I ever made. From the education I received, to developing personal values through the Five Stars, to the beginning of lifelong friendships, to coaches, this school has made a significant impact on my life. BA has a unique, inclusive community that should not be taken for granted.
Five years after graduating from BA, I am blessed to be back coaching varsity tennis and working in the Advancement Department, with a focus on alumni relations. I’m excited to contribute to the BA community by engaging all who share the title “BA Alum,” from recent graduates to those who just celebrated their 50th reunion.
~ Michael Rajchel ('16), Assistant Director of Alumni Relations

COVID-19 UPDATES
-
Parents, please help us by monitoring students for COVID-19 symptoms and keeping students home if they show any signs of illness.
-
Reminder: Please contact your Division's Administrative Assistant if anyone in your family has had direct contact with someone testing positive for COVID-19. A direct contact is defined as being within six feet of someone without a mask for 15 minutes or more. When making determinations about these situations, we will consider this definition; however, under certain circumstances, we may find it in the best interest of our students to expand upon this definition of direct contact. It is our intention to always do what is most necessary to keep our students, staff, and faculty safe.

Ongoing Updates: In addition to weekly newsletter updates, wellness protocols and other information are available in the MyBA parent portal under the COVID-19 School Updates.

Classes are filling up quickly! If you have a friend, neighbor, or family member who has a student (not currently enrolled at BA) who would benefit from all that a BA education offers, please encourage them to contact admissions@brookfieldacademy.org.
Gratitude and Giving: Students and families throughout the BA community were very generous donating food to those in need. The Lower School donated 520 pounds of food to the Waukesha Food Pantry; Middle School students contributed 15 full Thanksgiving meals and 20 turkeys to Feeding America; and Upper School students in the International Thespian Society collected 430 pounds of food for the Riverwest Food Pantry. Thank you to everyone who participated!
Parent Resources: The Resources section of the MyBA portal provides convenient access to useful information for parents, including details about each level, COVID-19 updates, educational articles, and more. As we upgrade our systems, this will become an even more useful resource. If you haven't logged in to the MyBA portal in a while, it's worth checking out.
Updated Bus Schedule for Exam Week: Parents, please remember dismissal time changes due to exams, so students who ride the bus will be arriving home early on Friday, December 17. Please see the schedule here.
Scholarship Update: For students who took the Scholarship Test in November, the first round of awards will be announced before Christmas break. Additional awards will be made on a rolling basis beginning the second semester. Winners will be notified by formal letter.

Online Giving Day
Thank you to all who participated in Online Giving Day. What a huge success! With your help, we raised just over $110,000 on 125 gifts. This exceeded last year’s Giving Day total by $40,000. Brookfield Academy and its students are grateful for your support!
Congratulations to the Crotty family on being selected at random to win tickets to see the Milwaukee Bucks in action. If you were one of the first 50 donors, you should have received an email from the Advancement Office to come in and pick up your special gift. Don’t delay - you have until Friday to claim your prize! Thank you to all those who made this a spectacular day.
All School Giving Incentives
Even though Giving Day has passed, the competition among levels continues. From now until December 10, we’d like to see which levels attain the highest participation in Annual Fund donations. Here’s how it works:
The students in the Division (PS/LS/MS/US) with the highest percentage participation will receive a dress down day.
The students in the level in each Division with the highest percentage participation will receive donuts!
Results will be updated here in the weekly newsletter. Also, watch for emails home from your Level Leader.
Level Competition - Current Results:
PS - 50%
LS - 47%
MS - 44%
US - 29%
