WEBINAR
Insights in Mathematical Research and Diversity Advocacy with Prof Dr Aoibhinn Ni Shuilleabhain

Sponsored by Waystone
Does thinking about maths make you start or stop? Research shows that girls who have an aptitude for maths are often subjected to social pressure to conform and lose interest in the subject.

How can mathematics become more accessible to female students? Through teacher education, Dr. Aoibhinn Ni Shuilleabhain, Assistant Professor in the School of Mathematics and Statistics in University College Dublin, aims to make the pedagogy of mathematics more effective and inclusive at all levels of education.

Following her extensive experience as a science communicator on TV, radio and in print, she is also interested in research on public engagement in STEM. In addition, Dr Ni Shuilleabhain has spoken publicly about her experience of workplace harassment in a male-dominated field.

Be inspired by this unique opportunity to learn from an advocate for diversity and inclusion in STEM!
