It's what we've been exploring during the month of October. And it's a theme that gets to the root of the developing faith of our children.
Preschool children learn about faith through their everyday life experiences, like having faith that they will be held in love and care. For school aged and older children,
belonging becomes a critical element of their lives. And they learn faith by belonging and participating in a faith community.
This week we continue our exploration of belonging by...
...looking at those times when we DON'T belong. And how to manage them. We've all been there. It can be a painful lesson. One that is less painful when considered within a beloved faith community.
The
preschool
class, led by Kiara Stacy, will work on some hand print art and turn our classroom into a place that feels like it belongs to us!
We need a helper in this class.
Sign up here
.
The
elementary school
class, led by Anna Caplan and assisted by Cesar Sanchez will play a "Not Fitting In" game and will discuss the courage needed to manage situations when we find ourselves not belonging.
Our
secondary class will not meet today after their lock in on Saturday night.
Are your kiddos signed up for the lock in? Do that by clicking
here.
Helping in faith formation is now WAY, WAY easier.
We made signing up to serve as a Classroom Helper even easier. Just
click here and add your name on all the dates that you can help.
The classroom assistant's job is to play and learn alongside the children, help as needed (scissors can be tricky) and provide the second adult in the room as required by our safety policies.
