Tenth Sunday after Pentecost

Weekly Chimes

CHIMES is a day early this week!  (The rector is home and writing!) We closed the office as a precaution for dangerous travel or damage from Tropical Storm Isaias.  Fortunately, the storm passed quickly early this morning. The Church fared well with lots of small limbs on the grounds, but no apparent major damage or leaks. We will need help with picking up debris throughout the graveyard and drive areas. If some of you can stop by for an hour one day Wednesday or Thursday, "many hands make light work." Maybe we could get some of our teens to come for an hour of safe service?

Sunday "in-person" worship has gone well. If you are having trouble getting a reservation for 8:00am or 10:00, we have opened up 5:00pm outdoors which was wonderful last Sunday.  Several folks are delaying reserving until later in the week for 8:00 to let those who have not gotten in have first chance. But if you are having trouble with the system, please call or email Gretchen or me.

We have changed the reflections at Noonday prayers this week to use them for more of a short teaching while we meet for prayers. This week we are introducing Dietrich Bonhoeffer and his writings. Bonhoeffer, who followed Karl Barth's important Christ-centered theology in 1930's Germany, became an inspirational martyr and writer. His thoughtful consideration of how to remain faithful in a world that was coming apart and required response has remained an important witness. Join in at noon or catch up on YouTube for the week.

I am saddened by the loss of Clyde March on Monday. We will send out a notice later today or in the morning. We have had far too many saints go to greater glory with God since this quarantine began.

On Sunday, Genevieve will preach at all services. Ashley has been on vacation, but she will return so we will be back to full strength! See you in-person (make your reservation) or online with our streaming service.

Peace and blessings,

Daily
Grounds Clean up! We were lucky to have no major damage or leaking from Tropical Storm Isaias, but we do have lots of small limbs down. If you and friends/family members are available, we'd love to have some help with getting everything cleaned up so we are ready for outside worship on Sunday!
