400 Pull For Time
August 1-31
Do you love to pull? Sebastopol Masters
Aquatic Club is hosting their 400 Pull for Time in August. Pull as much as you want but only your fastest time gets entered. There are two categories - paddles and no paddles. Top 3 fastest overall times for both men and women in both categories will receive a unique prize! Awards will also be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each age group for both categories. Please help us meet our team goal of 100+ entries this year! More information can be found

Matchmaking Service for Relay Meet
Want to participate in the relay meet but can't find enough swimmers to form a team? Are you looking for a fourth team member? The meet director for the 1st Annual Pacific Masters Relay Meet & Social has volunteered to provide a match making service for folks looking for relay teammates. To take advantage of this offer, send an email to pastchair@pacificmasters.org . Please provide an email address, age, gender, and any other information you feel pertinent (strokes you can't do, relay preferences, etc). Parties looking for a 3rd and/or fourth member can also send an email with any appropriate description of what characteristics they are looking for (male age 50 and above, competent backstroker, etc). |
Whiskeytown Open Water Swims

Pacific Masters welcomes Whiskeytown Open Water 1 and 2 Mile swims back this year after devastating fires forced the cancellation of the event last year. This year's event will be held at Oak Bottom Beach on the opposite side of Whiskeytown Lake from where the event has been held in past years. We'll let you know in the next issue if registration has been opened. |
The 16th Annual Alan Liu Memorial SCM Meet

5K/10K ePostal Nationals
now until September 25
This event must be swum in a 50 meter pool. There are not many of these in the Bay Area. As you can see from the title of this article, there is a 5K and a 10K event. There also is a relay event in which the total times of 3 or 4 swimmers are added up. Find out more

New Open Water Trailer
If you are at the Santa Cruz Open Water Weekend, you will be the first to see our new Open Water equipment trailer. We would like to thank Cokie Lipinski, Robert Norris and Rich Burns for their photos that so aptly capture the lure our sport, and Rob Heath who was instrumental in managing the launch. If you miss the trailer in Santa Cruz, keep your eyes open and you might catch a glimpse as it travels the roads of the Bay Area and Northern California. Photos

USMS Coach and ALTS Instructor Certification Classes + Swim Clinic
December 7-8
The USMS instructors will be in Sacramento Dec. 7-8 to offer us a series of classes. The Sacramento adult learn-to-swim instructor certification class on Sunday, Dec. 8, is open for registration.
Coach Certifications Levels 1-2, the Clinic Course for Coaches, and a stroke development clinic will also be offered that weekend. Information will be available soon.

Rinconada Needs Our Help
The Rindonada Masters
team has taken cost-cutting measures and are hoping to increase their roster so they can cover water costs, open more lanes and keep the team going to mark their 47th anniversary!
