1st Annual Pacific Masters Relay Meet & Social
August 25

Some things we do for fitness.  Other things we do for competition or social gratification.  Yet what we hold dear are good times and fun shared with others.  At this Pacific Masters Relay Meet & Social, it's bound to happen in a split second - strangers becoming the best of friends over a race.  We want you to keep this event in mind and hold the date on your calendar, Sunday, August 25.  Good things are coming your way. Meet Registration closes August 14.
Matchmaking Service for Relay Meet

Want to participate in the relay meet but can't find enough swimmers to form a team? Are you looking for a fourth team member? The meet director for the 1st Annual Pacific Masters Relay Meet & Social has volunteered to provide a match making service for folks looking for relay teammates. To take advantage of this offer, send an email to pastchair@pacificmasters.org . Please provide an email address, age, gender, and any other information you feel pertinent (strokes you can't do, relay preferences, etc). Parties looking for a 3rd and/or fourth member can also send an email with any appropriate description of what characteristics they are looking for (male age 50 and above, competent backstroker, etc).

Rinconada Needs Our Help

The Rindonada Masters team has taken cost-cutting measures and are hoping to increase their roster so they can cover water costs, open more lanes and keep the team going to mark their 47th anniversary!
Please visit their  GoFundMe-Rinconada  and help raise $15,000 to keep them in the pool until January. Any amount will help!

Coaches Carol Macpherson and Terri Baxter-Smith as well as the entire Rinconada swimming community thank you.

Editor's Note

A wonderful article appeared in the New York Times on Sunday, July 28. What Swimming Taught Me About Happiness is a fun read. Written by Richard A. Friedman, a psychiatrist and contributing opinion writer for the New York Times, it explores the swimming life.
