Tisha B'av: Jews Say Close the Camps - Service and Study
This year, we will join with communities throughout the country to mark the holy day of Tisha B'av by educating and mobilizing our community so that we can effectively work to stop the inhumane treatment that immigrants and refugees are facing throughout our country. Don't forget to bring something for the pot-luck brunch.

recently there has been an uptick in phishing scams on both a local and national level. Phishing emails appear at first glance to be sent from a trusted person but have actually been sent from a fraudulent account. If you receive an email from someone or regarding something at TBC that feels "off" in any way, please confirm that the email was sent from a trusted person by calling the TBC office and/or checking the sender's email address itself (not just the name that appears in your inbox). If you have any doubts, please call us directly 203-544-8695.

Zipporah's Fire
In Bamidbar (the Book of Numbers), Zipporah seems to fade away until, ultimately, she no longer appears in the story. Rashi and other commentators imagine that Moses chose to set her aside, effectively divorcing her. In this Midrashic Monologue, we continue our exploration of Zipporah's point of view and suggest that she was the one who decided to remove herself from her husband's story.

ABC LOOKING for HOST FAMILY Candidates: A Better Chance

brings academically talented minority students from inner city neighborhoods to Wilton so that they can attend Wilton High School and receive a better education than their regional high school would allow. As part of this program, A Better Chance is seeking candidates to become host families for incoming scholars. In this role, the host family is paired with a scholar and welcomes the scholar into their home each Sunday (and once a month from Friday evening to Sunday evening) to enable the scholar to take a break from living in the program's residential housing and to provide the scholar with the opportunity to become more integrated into the Wilton community.
