Thalemouth is a bustling town, prospering yet set in its superstition. The town sits on the meeting of two rivers, causing much in the way of trade. Many ships sailed to the city Salas and on to the seas. The docks are in constant motion. Trade deals, storefronts, travelers and locals, there is always something going on. The town itself is no stranger to magic and adventurers on their way to seek glory. The noble in charge of this town is Lady Assara Thiatra, supposedly a descendant of the great god Erathis. It is said her ancestors ruled a great kingdom once, but long ago were demoted to simply lords. The shield of her family, a silver eagle on a red field, still commands the respect of many, even some who believe she should rebuild the empire. But she is content to have only Thalemouth in the name of peace. Her council is full of many interesting figures representing the interest of the town, there is rarely quiet among them. Many more people and colorful groups exist in this town, illegal or legal as they are, they make the town what it is. How your character fits into this town is up to you. You must decide how their lives have played out here so far or how they have come to be in Thalemouth.

2020 Teen Video Challenge

The Teen Video Challenge is an annual video contest hosted by The Collaborative Summer Library Program. It's open to all teens across the country. The challenge is for teens to create a public services announcement-type video that shows their unique interpretation of the 2020 Summer Reading slogan "Imagine Your Story."

Videos should be no longer than 60 seconds and should promote libraries and reading.

Video submissions will be accepted through August 7, 2020.

Five national winners will be chosen. Each winning submission will receive a $200 cash prize and $50 worth of summer reading materials for their library.

You can find CSLP's Official Teen Video Challenge (TVC) Submission Form and 2020 TVC Contest Rules here.

Last year's TVC winners included a team of New York State teens from Kingston Library in the Mid-Hudson Library System. You can watch the Kingston Library teens' video and the other four winning TVC video entries from across the country through this link.

StoryWalk®
StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children (and adults!) to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children's book are attached to wooden stakes, which are installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail, you're directed to the next page in the story.

Stories to follow and read will be posted around town. We will update you via social media and email if you are registered for the story times.
