August 2020
Be well. Wear your mask. Stay connected with us.
Pleasanton Chamber President/CEO Steve Van Dorn shares a video message with our members.
Dear Chamber Supporter,

It's hard to believe COVID-19 arrived over five months ago! Last month, I was optimistic that businesses would begin opening again. Unfortunately, the spread of the pandemic has increased, which will further delay our economy from recovering. Please continue to wear your masks and socially distance. If we all follow these basic guidelines, we will slow the spread and businesses will be allowed to open.

I hope you have taken advantage of "A Weekend on Main" and visited the many restaurants and businesses that are serving excellent food and creative products while Main Street is closed to cars. Since there is only one weekend remaining, we have requested the City consider extending the closure until at least Labor Day weekend. Our downtown businesses need this additional support so they can keep their doors open.

Last month we continued our Virtual Speed Networking Zoom program which has been a huge success. Our next one will be held on August 13 at 2pm. We are also in the process of planning our first virtual mixer for August 10. Our Tri-Valley Mayors' Summit will be held virtually on August 26 starting at 12noon, featuring a panel discussion with the five Tri-Valley Mayors, moderated by Catharine Baker. More information will be outlined on these awesome programs in our Monday Update email.

EXTRAORDINARY TIMES CALL FOR EXTRAORDINARY CHOICES. Your membership is extremely important to us. In times of unique challenges, we don't want continuing membership to be one of the difficult choices facing your business. If you need some flexibility in order to continue as a member of the Chamber, please reach out to our Membership Director, Dawn Wilson. She is ready to work with you on flexible payment options. If you renew your membership online, you can now switch from annual to monthly payments. Continue reading August update here.

Tri-Valley Mayors' Summit
The Tri-Valley Mayors' Summit is set for Wednesday, August 26, 2020 and this year's event will be virtual. Included in the panel are Karen Stepper (Danville), David Haubert (Dublin), John Marchand (Livermore), Jerry Thorne (Pleasanton) and Bill Clarkson (San Ramon).
